HEYBURN LAKE
Heyburn Lake is located on Polecat Creek about 13 miles southwest of Sapulpa in Creek County. Heyburn lies in a picturesque setting of grasslands and gently sloping, wooded hills covered with postoak, blackjack and other oak with some hickory, ash, elm and cottonwood. In the spring, visitors enjoy the flowering wild plum and redbud trees. Recreation facilities at the three areas on the perimeter of the lake include picnicking, RV sites with electric/water, tent campsites, restrooms and showers, playground and swimming. Catfish are abundant and some fishermen declare trot-lining is unsurpassed here. Largemouth bass, crappie and sunfish are also found in the headwaters and in the arms of Tiger, Polecat and Brown Creeks. During hunting season, project lands provide opportunities for waterfowl and whitetail deer. Heyburn Public Hunting Area covers more than 6,000 acres of project lands and provides hunting opportunities for squirrel, rabbit, quail, waterfowl and wild turkey. Lake has 920 surface acres and 52 miles of shoreline. Lake info recording is 918-669-7521. Current Lake Levels Lake Map
