Lower Illinois River Trout Area
Trout Season: Year round.
Designated Trout Area/Size/Location: 7.75 miles of Illinois River from Tenkiller Dam to Hwy. 64 bridge near Gore in Sequoyah County.
Bank Access/Boat Ramps: Six public or private access points along the state designated trout area including a pool built off the river immediately below the dam which allows trout fishing even when hydropower operations cause heavy current. Another non-turbulent fishing area is located at the River Road access area which is about six miles downstream from the dam. Boat ramp at Gore Landing.
Notes of Interest: Overnight camping is permitted only at fee areas and Gore Landing North (see map).
Special Regulations: Brown trout - daily limit: one (1); size limit: 20-inch minimum. Rainbow trout - daily limit: six (6); size limit: none.
